28 Greenpeace International activists, a freelance photographer and a freelance videographer were arrested by armed Russian authorities following a peaceful protest against Arctic oil drilling.
Now all of them have been charged with hooliganism and piracy which carries a maximum sentence of 7 and 15 years in Russian jail.
Experts in international law, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, and organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have demanded their immediate release.
